Forum For Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport

12 November 2020 - 11:00 - 16:00 CET

The 4th Edition of the Annual FORUM on Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport will, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, take place online.

The FORUM is organised in the framework of the Erasmus+ project called FAIR+

The Forum has become one of the most relevant occasions for European doping experts, institutions and stakeholders to come together and discuss currrent policies.

The Forum, over the years, has contributed to raise the awareness of policy makers about doping in amateur sport as societal and public health concern, to solve the lack of co-operation at EU level in the doping policy, to establish a network for sharing idea and good practices among sport and doping stakeholders.

The 2020 FORUM is composed of two sessions:

Session 1. The FAIR+ Project (11:00 - 13:00 CET)

The Head of the Sport Unit will open the FORUM and present the position of the Commission in this area.

FAIR+ Project partners will present the objectives of the new Erasmus+ project on doping in recreational sport.

The Coordinators of two other Erasmus+ Projects on anti-doping will present the objectives and findings of their projects.

Two Keynote Speakers from the US will share their views and personal experience on the scope of anti-doping regulation and powers with regard to sanctioning non-elite populations.

Session 2. The FAIR+ Forum (14:00 - 16:00 CET)

Representatives of Sport Organisations and Anti-Doping Agencies will present their views on the roles and powers of NADOs.

This will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience.

Professors, representatives of public authorities and international organisations will provide the audience with their points of view on the definitions of recreational sport and athletes.

This will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience.
